Patient's Story
I was born with a cleft lip and had some surgery to repair that when I was an infant. But I was left with horrible scar and a misshapen nose. All my life I had gone to different doctors to improve the look, but nothing got better. About 15 years ago, I went to a plastic surgeon who said he could improve the scar, but after his surgery, I think it looked worse.

So even though I'm 40, I decided I didn't want to give up on making it look better. I had seen Dr. Dunagan's commercial on TV and I studied their website and thought he was somebody experienced enough to help me. But I was nervous about trying one more time and it took me two and half months to get up the nerve to call and schedule an appointment.

Once I saw Dr. Dunagan, he sat down and talked with me about what he could do. He told me he couldn't promise anything and he wanted me to think about it. His nurses, Brenda and Edie, also spent a lot of time with me, they are really wonderful.

The first surgery he did was on my nose to reconstruct it and give it a better shape. It made a wonderful difference. Then we've done two laser resurfacing treatments around my mouth and nose, so soften the appearance of the scar. The results are more than I'd ever hoped for.

I come from a large family, but I didn't tell anyone what I was going to do. I just stayed at home and kept to myself. They finally saw me after the swelling had gone down from the nose surgery and they were all really excited for me and so happy with what Dr. Dunagan had done.

Having surgery again was a really personal and emotional thing for me. And every day after the nose surgery, it looked better and better. I was skeptical going in, but I found a surgeon I could be confident about. I look better than I ever expected.
