Kelly received her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1992 from The University of Alabama, Huntsville. Her nursing career actually began in 1991 in surgery at Huntsville Hospital. She worked there until 1994, at which time she came to work with Dr. Pat Burlison, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Dr. William Alison joined Dr. Burlison’s practice in 1995, which began his plastic surgery practice.

After Dr. Burlison’s retirement in 1998, Dr. Alison and his staff joined Dr. Dunagan and Dr. Yates. At that time, Kelly was the nursing team leader for Dr. Alison. In 2007, after working part-time for a few years, a position in the Skin Health Department opened. Due to her interest and enthusiasm for the science of skin health, Kelly decided to join that team.
